Ryan’s Tavern will forever be etched in the history of Butler County.

The 1913  Hamilton, Ohio  flood  wiped out the Milders family businesses which were located along the Great Miami river in downtown Hamilton,OH. The family was forced to start over from scratch. It was from this fateful event that we have some of the best fried chicken being served in Ohio today.

The family relocated from Hamilton, Ohio to Fairfield, Ohio and started the Milders’ Inn. The Inn soon became a hotspot for Cincinnati Reds players and coaches. Live performers entertained the waiting and hungry crowd. Family history states that customers would wait up to three hours for this fried chicken. Gramma Milders would take orders for the freshly fried chicken and the made to order mashed potatoes. As Grampa Ray Milders would play the piano and entertain the audience.

Today at Ryan’s Tavern of downtown Hamilton, OH the same one hundred-year-old soliloquy recipe is used. The same hundred-year-old skillets are used to cook the chicken, and there are even Milders’ family members prepping and frying the chicken.

For all the Butler County, #Ohio #foodies this chicken is served only on Mondays and only at Ryan’s Tavern. The tavern is located on High Street downtown Hamilton, OH.
