Today is Plaid Friday!

You didn’t make it to the big box store to find a special buy? That’s not a big deal today! Because today is Plaid Friday. Butler Countians are wearing plaid and showing support for your local businesses on Black Friday. Be sure to patronize a local business.

When you support small business more money goes back into our local economy to support our first responders and our community. The economic impact of the local economy is huge! Think globally but act locally.

From the Plaid Friday Facebook Page:

Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses and organizations. It’s a fun and enjoyable alternative to the big box store “Black Friday.” Also, it’s a way to show your support for Buy Local – a network of locally owned businesses, organizations and citizens working to build a stronger local economy.

Plaid Friday was created in Oakland, CA to bring back the times when shopping for friends and family was a pleasurable leisurely activity. Now it is celebrated throughout the nation as a kick-off event to the Shift Your Shopping Campaign.

Show your support! Wear plaid ALL DAY on November 23rd!
