HAMILTON – Parents looking for free summer activities to get their children outside are in luck. RENEW (Renewing the North End From Within) is once again hosting their annual Art in the Park series located at Moser Park in Hamilton’s North End neighborhood. Each event provides an opportunity for children to take part in making art crafts.
Art in the Park makes its return this Saturday, June 2nd with a wave of new additions. Now, children can expect to see face painting, receive guitar lessons, and be able to check-out books on the Lane Library’s bookmobile. Members of City Council will also be present at a few of the Art in the Park sessions for a Meet & Greet to seek feedback from residents pertaining to areas of the neighborhood in need of addressing. One particularly exciting addition to Art in the Park is a live band performance (compliments of the Lane Libraries) by Lafferty Pike, an all-girl Bluegrass band on August 4th.
Art in the Park was made possible through a 17 Strong micro-grant. 17 Strong is a citizen-led initiative which strives to unite Hamilton’s seventeen neighborhoods. Residents can apply for micro-grants up to $2,500 to organize projects within their neighborhoods.
Councilmember Kathy Klink, who is involved with RENEW, says to expect big things out of 17 Strong this year.

“The role of 17 Strong in the community is to increase communications within and among our neighborhoods. We want to empower all residents to share their ideas so we have safe, clean and engaged neighborhoods! Future plans focus on the neighborhoods inviting residents to join us in the 4th of July Parade and the September Bridge Event. 17 Strong looks forward to joining our residents to ensure our 17S Neighborhoods make a Strong Hamilton!”
Moser Park is located at 664 Heaton Street, Hamilton, Ohio. A full list of activities to expect at Art in the Park can be found in the chart below.
