Fort Hamilton Hospital’s “Move and Groove” event

Happening on September 19th, 2018, from 5:30 pm – 8 pm at the East Butler County Family YMCA located on 6645 Morris Rd Hamilton, Ohio 45011.  Sponsored by Kettering network and the Orthopedic care at Fort Hamilton hospital. The “Move and groove” event features a night of classes and presentations on orthopedic care and different kinds of exercise!

Health Fair 5:30 pm – 8 pm

During the “Move and Groove” event, there will be a Health fair featuring several different classes available and open to all!

6 pm – Pilates:
Pilates is a form of exercise that combines endurance movements, low-impact flexibility, and muscular strength. Pilates helps with postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. Pilates is also named after its creator, Joseph Pilates.

6:30 pm – Spinning:
Spinning is also known as indoor cycling, usually taking place on a stationary machine with a heavy, weighted flywheel. Spinning focuses on endurance and strength while in high- intensity intervals.

7 pm – Cardio Dance:
Cardio Dance is a form of a high-energy aerobic dance workout. Cardio Dance helps ramp up your metabolism to ignite weight-loss and tone the entire body in fast pace dance steps.

7:15 pm – Zumba:
Zumba is also an aerobic workout, featuring dance steps to Latin-inspired music.

In addition to classes, there will also be presentations about education in orthopedic care, below is the full line up of presentations:

6:00 pm – 6:30 pm Bone Health: Preventing osteoporosis – Joseph Scheidler, DO and D. Philip Stickney, MD

6:45 pm – 7:15 pm Do My Shoes Match My Activity? – Kenneth Foster, DPM

7:30 pm – 8 pm Overuse Injury: Am I Doing Too Much? – Krista Migliore, DO
