Fishing is a great way to pass the long summer days. Looking for a new place to cast – check out Lake Monroe in Liberty Township.
Lake Monroe is a catch and release lake for all ages. The lake is located on Linn St., but you need to look for Shelby Ln to make the turn into the driveway. It’s kind of tucked away.
The lake is stocked with carp and catfish, a few as large as 60lbs. They also have a nice family farm pond stocked with blue gill, bass and channel catfish. It is a perfect location to teach the kids the art of fishing. The staff is very friendly and can help you teach any aspect of fishing.
If you need fishing gear, the big house at Lake Monroe has you covered with fishing reels, fishing poles, fishing rods and more types of bait than you can imagine.
The lake is open 24 hours with one day off per week. Everyone must have a pass to fish. The cost of the pass depends on the day of the week and last for 12 hours.
