Fairfield Parks and Recreation announced on June 19 that hand-powered boats will be allowed on Marsh Lake starting on the first of July.

Boaters will be required to have current and valid Ohio registration stickers on their vessels and will be required to purchase a $10 daily pass. Boating will be permitted only during Bait House operating hours.

Permitted watercraft includes kayaks, canoes, rowing shells, rowboats, and Jon boats. Paddleboards and windsurfers will be prohibited on Marsh Lake, as swimming is not permitted at any time.

Always a popular pastime on the shores of Marsh Lake, fishing will be permitted from the boats. In addition to the $10 boating pass, a fishing pass must also be purchased. Entrance to the park is free as long as the park is not being used for fishing or boating.
