Country music superstar Dolly Parton will begin a 10-week story-time series at 7 p.m. this evening on YouTube.

The series, titled “Goodnight with Dolly,” will begin with the nine-time Grammy award winner reading “The Little Engine That Could” by Watty Piper. The video series was launched in response to the numerous stay at home orders issued in states across the U.S. due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right,” Parton said in a statement. “I think it is pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love. It is an honor for me to share the incredible talent of these authors and illustrators. They make us smile, they make us laugh and they make us think.”

The video series is being launched in partnership with Parton’s Imagination Library. The program provides children with free books each month from their birth to their fifth birthday. The program was expanded to include Ohio this past year as part of a partnership between Parton and Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine.

Parton made headlines again this week after donating $1 million to Vanderbilt University’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
