A Victorian Christmas

It’s a 1950’s Christmas at the Elisha Morgan Mansion. The Fairfield Historical Society, Four Seasons Garden Club, Fairfield Parks & Recreation, and Friends of Elisha Morgan are teaming up once again to provide complimentary light snacks and refreshments for the occasion.
The mansion was originally built in 1817 and is one of the oldest structures still standing in the City of Fairfield. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places after an extensive renovation in the early 1980’s.

Sorg Opera House Holiday Open House

Visit the historic 1891 Sorg Opera House decorated in its holiday finest. It’s a great photo opportunity for the family and a chance to see the “new” seats and storied second balcony (revealed this summer after 70 years). This is also a last minute chance to take home a pair (or more) of movie theater seats for a small donation of $15.00 each or pick up a pair of historic Music Hall seats donated to the Sorg for a $100 donation. Gift t-shirts and various Middletown themed small gifts are also available. You could consider giving loved ones a membership in the seat sponsorship group as well. The photo is from the 2014 holiday walk. All proceeds go directly towards temporary occupancy work. SORG, LLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a performing arts center that will enhance the region.

Miami University Regionals’ Middletown campus will hold a hands-on chemistry and glass ornaments workshop from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 in Levey Hall Rooms 209/213.
Participants will learn to etch flat glass ornaments. All ornaments are $5 each, cash only. Participants should be 12 years old or older.
