Second decide which social media platform works best for you. Better understanding your ideal customer will help you decide which social media platform suits your end goals best. If baby boomers are your ideal client then Facebook may be your best choice. However, if your ideal customers are millennials, you may consider Instagram. The point is to know your target customer, then decide which social media platform helps you reach your ideal customer.
Third, decide how you want to manage your social media. There are three ways most choose to manage their pages, groups, and social media image. First and most common is DIY. Do it yourself! If you have the time, knowledge and patience you can build a great social media presence doing it yourself. But what most find is social media is an investment of time that seems to cost them. Mainly because while they are managing their social media, they are not in front of their ideal client selling services or their products.

Yes, there are companies that will post your content, handle messages, and complaints for a monthly retainer. Why hire it out? Time is one reason. Knowledge and experience is the other. Hiring a firm allows you to go generate revenue. Who should you hire? Seek out market influencers. Influencers are people who have built an audience. Anyone can post content, but not everyone can influence people to take action and engage your brand. Influencers have proven they can reach the target market.
Social media will be with us for a very long time. It has replaced television, radio, and the newspaper. You can build your brand with time, energy and focus.
