Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones urges caution when celebrating with fireworks.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, there are approximately 180
fireworks related visits to the emergency room each July due to the 4th the
July holiday.
“This is a great Country that needs to be celebrated. We want to make sure
you celebrate with your family and friends at home and not an emergency
room,” states Sheriff Jones.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones explained a few simple rules pertaining to fireworks:
Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks.
Never try to pick up or re-light fireworks that have not ignited fully.
Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
Douse fireworks with water after they’ve completely burned before discarding them
in the trash.
