Honey harvest in Butler County
Do you enjoy fresh local honey? Yes? Then Butler County is the perfect place for you. Butler County has a rich Beekeeping history. In 1859, a Beekeeper by the name L.L. Langstroth purchased a home where he lived for the next 28 years. He conducted research into breeding techniques and productivity of bees. Many of his designs and improvements to beekeeping are still in use today. His former residence was placed on the National Historic Landmark in 1976, and is located in Oxford, Ohio.
