Nestled along State Route 128 just outside of Hamilton Ohio is a wonderful escape from the grind of everyday life. Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum is a delightful place where one can enjoy over 60 outdoor sculptures while at the same time enjoying nature.

This 300+ acres of rolling hills and meadows make for the perfect setting for World Renown Artist Chakaia Booker to display her unique artwork. Ms. Booker has been an artist since the 1970’s and during those years she has developed a unique style of using discarded items in her sculptures. Chakaia uses refuse tires and turns them into fantastic pieces of art that capture your senses. Years ago she would hand cut the tires into strips of rubber and rivet the pieces into place to create some of the most remarkable pieces of art. Today the cutting into strips is performed by machines. Her work has been displayed in cities and museums in many major US cities including a piece on loan to Pyramid Hill titled “Shhh.”

A new piece titled “Deja Vu” is now on display at Pyramid Hill. Countless discarded tires have been used in this sculpture. Your senses will be dazzled! The smell of rubber tires, the shadows created by the art and sunlight, the touch of the tire treads. This sculpture could quickly become one of your favorite in the park. Make time this Summer to enjoy the Arts in your own backyard.
