Hamilton native David Mathews launches The Wild Idea

HAMILTON – This Friday, residents will get their first look at a refreshing, new apparel line introduced by Hamilton native David Mathews. Wild Idea, a concept derived by Mathews at an early age, combines his interest in business with a passion for fashion. “Since I was young I always wanted to be a businessman and entrepreneur”, says Mathews. “Being a part of my mom’s program, the Pastor Shaq Youth Job/Mentoring Program, I had the opportunity to be mentored and hear from successful entrepreneurs
which was extremely helpful”.

Mathews, a 15-year-old Freshman at Hamilton High School, will be available at the apparel launch for community members to have the opportunity to meet him and experience his vision firsthand. Some of the merchandise that will be featured include
his spring line of hats, t-shirts, hoodies, pants, and leggings. Mathews plans to continue to introduce new items as Wild Idea grows with shorts, tank tops, and visors expected this summer. Although his business is just kicking off, he foresees a successful future that will eventually stretch beyond the boundaries of Hamilton. “I would like to see the business grow into something that is a household name and that when you see it, it inspires. I would like this brand to be established in Hamilton while appreciated by all across the world. I would like to have a pop-up shop and potentially explore brick and mortar”.

The Wild Idea Launch Party will take place this Friday, March 15th from 7-9pm hosted by the Artspace Hamilton Lofts at 222 High Street. For more information, visit their Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1241012699396035/.
