About the Show:
By America’s great comic playwright, this memory play is set in Yonkers in 1942. Bella is thirty-five years old, mentally challenged, and living at home with her mother, stern Grandma Kurnitz. As the play opens, ne’er-do-well son Eddie deposits his two young sons on the old lady’s doorstep. He is financially strapped and taking to the road as a salesman. The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers.

OXFORD FARMERS MARKET UPTOWN sets up in a city parking lot near Oxford Uptown Parks with many vendors offering all the fresh/local/seasonal foods and goods you’ve come to expect from friends and neighbors.
Several OFMU farmers are certified organic and other farmers use earth-friendly practices to produce a smorgasboard of meats, chicken/duck eggs, fruits/vegetables, ODA licensed goat cheese, lush bedding plants and cut flowers. Bakers offer sweets,breads, vegan and gluten free items with hot coffee/tea and iced drinks. Natural soaps, beeswax candles and fine arts compliment Artisan Alley with a sprinkling of eclectic wares.
SPROUTS, an interactive/exploratory program of gardening/nutrition/art/games/fun! for 2-legged kids. Friends of Market program continues for those wishing to financially support market endeavors in return for premiums like colorful market bags and T-shirts and for volunteers wishing to help make Oxford Farmers Market Uptown THE place to BE!
May – Nov, vendors’ products increase in number each Saturday as OFMU Market Council presents more music, cooking demos, Salsa Tasting, Taste of Oxford, a Harvest Celebration and more.
And not to be outdone by weather, Oxford Farmers Market Uptown’s vendors brave the elements to continue providing fresh/local/seasonal every 3rd Saturday of the month Dec thru April!
Market Manager, Larry Slocum, invites Oxford and surrounding communities to join the challenge and fun of “Cultivating Community” at Oxford Farmers Market Uptown by supporting local farmers, bakers and artists. We accept Food Stamps or EBT and Credit Cards.

**SHOW SYNOPSES**
DICK TRACY and his sidekick, Vitamin Flintheart, investigate The Big Top Circus’ performers – was there an accident or was murder afoot?!

WAR OF THE WORLDS: An alien invasion throws humanity into chaos in the classic sci-fi novel. But all it took to cause real-life panic in the streets was Orson Welles’ 1938 radio adaptation, which some listeners took for real news. Now, ten years later, the WCPT radio ensemble cast recreates the colorful events surrounding the infamous evening.

CAST & CREW:
Just like in the 1940s radio program shows, many cast members play more than one character. Some also help crew positions such as live Foley sound effects.
