Growing up in this area, I have driven by Sabor Peruano for years but never ventured in until the other day, and let me tell you about Ceviche, I mean how well this restaurant does it. Let me warn you before I go any further, This restaurant is for adventurous eaters.  Leave chicken nugget and macaroni cheese picky eaters at home with the sitter.

I did not know walking in, that Sabor Peruano was also an event center/dancehall so the size caught me by surprise. I was greeted kindly when I walked in the door. The ceiling is adorned with flags from all countries. Latin music playing overhead was lively.  The menu offerings are broad and include descriptions of each plate in English – they have a section for every meat including seafood and some veggie options.  However my eyes and appetite were immediately drawn to the Ceviche Mixto. They have several variations with both cooked and raw fish and octopus dishes. My dinner guest ordered the Trucha Dorada which is a whole fried Trout with Arroz(rice).

The pictures below barely do these plates justice. The Ceviche was bursting with flavor and did not have that overly fishy taste.  The portion easily fed me and my guest.  The Trout was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, we added a squeeze of lemon and we’re in culinary heaven. We paired our meals with a Peruvian Beer (Cusqueña) and a Peruvian Soda (Inca Kola) which tastes like liquid lollipops.
