The Oldest Civic Group in Fairfield
Tucked away on Hunter Road is the oldest civic community group in Fairfield Ohio. The Fairfield Civitan Club has served the area since 1954. The chilly weather on Saturday, March 17, made for the perfect day to host a Chili Cook-off. 10 chili cook teams brought their best pot to allow Fairfield’s chili connoisseur and aficionados to test their chili creations. $5.00 for a tasting spoon granted the spoon holder freedom to sample and judge ten of Fairfield’s best homemade chilis.
Competing for the title of “Winner of the 1st Annual Civitan Club Chili cookoff” were the following chili cooks: Luke Pater (Cowboys Smoke Shack), Angela Vanoss, Jen Lutz, The Fairfield Rotary Club, The Alzheimer’s Association, Seniors helping Seniors, The Urology Group, Tammie and Marilyn Vanoss, Jarrad Baker and Austin Robinette. Based on audience opinion Luke Pater’s chili was heading to a win.
