Yoga is a popular way to get fit in Butler County.  Yoga is one of the oldest disciplines of fitness that has stood the test of time – yoga originated as a practice of Hindu and Buddhist faiths.  Many practice yoga in a secular way in order to get increase flexibility, increase muscle strength and improve cardio and circulatory health.

Yoga is a practice that combines physical movement with the training of the mind – relaxation, breathing and self-awareness. Using the body and mind at the same time can give you a great jolt of energy while you get physically fit.

There are many places in Butler County to practice yoga.  Studios have a reduced  rate if you are interested in trying a class for the first time. If you have ever thought about trying yoga, it’s a great time to start at new habit of working toward fitness.

Midpointe Library
The library offers free yoga at the three locations. Monday 6:30pm at the Trenton Location.  Tuesday, 6:30pm at the Middletown Branch, Thursday 6:30pm at the West Chester Branch.  Check the library calendar to confirm the class is being held.  Registration is not required, but space is limited. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel to class. Participants must be 12 years of age or older.

Liberty Center Yoga Series
Liberty Center hosts yoga daily in the Unity Chapel. Each class is $5 or unlimited $30. Times are varied – on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday they have noon lunchtime sessions. Find times and registration link here –

Fitton Center
Fitton Center in Hamilton presents yoga classes to help with strength and flexibility.  Suitable for beginners or experienced students, this class explores the fundamentals of yoga to help calm the mind while improving flexibility, balance, and core strength. Classes begin with yoga breathing techniques and movements to warm muscles and joints followed by basic yoga postures. Each class ends with a guided deep relaxation leaving students feeling refreshed and energized. Suitable for all fitness levels. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely. All of our yoga instructors are Certified Yoga Alliance RYT (registered yoga teachers). Mats and props are provided, but students may bring their own.
