Halloween is in the air in Butler County.  There are events in all corners of the county, guaranteed to get you and your family in the fall spirit.

Operation Pumpkin is one of the biggest fall events in Butler County.  This three-day festival includes a pumpkin weighing contest, live music, food, rides for the kids, crafts, hay rides, pie eating contests and all the fall fun.

Get your costumes ready! The Great Pumpkin Fest returns to Keehner Park (7211 Barret Rd.) Saturday, Oct. 8 from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission is free to the public and concessions will be available for purchase. This annual fall event promises to put kids and families in the Halloween spirit. The afternoon kicks off with a performance of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Madcap Puppets at the amphitheater.

Following the show, kids ages 12 and under are invited to take the amphitheater stage in The Primrose School of West Chester costume contest beginning at 3:30 p.m. Contestants can register as early as 2 p.m.  Other free activities in the park include a Not-So-Scary Haunted Trail, horse-and-wagon rides, a petting zoo with pony rides, a straw maze, a birds-of-prey demonstration by Hueston Woods State Park, arts and crafts, games and more. The West Chester Historical Society also hosts an open house at the Cabin in the Clearing.

Bring the whole family to enjoy a special seasonal twist throughout Village Green Park at the season finale of the Village Green Farmers Market. All your fall favorites for eating and decorating will be available from local farmers, bakers, and crafters. Your kids can wear their costumes to trick or treat throughout the market, play free seasonal games and explore the park with a selfie scavenger hunt, while you check out the added fall craft vendors, food trucks and live entertainment.

Our annual celebration will be held in the Uptown Parks, featuring our Pet Costume & Pumpkin Carving Contests and other amazing entertainment. The Lions Club Halloween Parade will follow at 7:00 PM. Meet by the Princess Theatre, 10 N. Beech Street. Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. Prizes and Gifts!
