3074_memorialparade06Memorial Day is a day reserved for remembrance of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.  It is a solemn day of mourning, remembrance, and to honor our departed loved ones.

Join fellow citizens in Butler County to remember our fallen soldiers.  There are parades in Fairfield, Middletown and West Chester.  All parades begin Monday,  May 30th at 10am.

Fairfield Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony – Monday, May 30th

From the Fairfield website – the parade will feature veterans groups, military units, the Fairfield High School Marching Band, community groups and organizations, the Fairfield Police Department, and Fairfield Fire and Paramedic units.

The parade will form in the parking lot of Express Scripts, located at 4865 Winton Road.  Access to the parking lot will be from the Winton Road entrance only. Starting at Express Scripts; left on Hicks; right on Nilles; left on Bibury; right on Wessel; ending at Fairfield Veterans Memorial Park.

The Hamilton-Fairfield Concert Band will be performing patriotic music and other favorites at Veterans Memorial Park from 10:00 am until noon. The parade concludes with a ceremony to pay tribute to our veterans, both past and present at Veterans Memorial Park. Guest speakers include representatives from local veterans groups and City of Fairfield Mayor Steve Miller.

Parade Parameters:  Political campaigning of any kind is prohibited.  Only seated elected officials are eligible to participate.  For safety reasons, throwing candy is prohibited.  The Fairfield Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to reject all registrations deemed inappropriate for the parade.  Parade line up is from 9:15 to 9:45.  The parade will step off at 10:00 am SHARP!

Middletown Memorial Day Parade

The Middletown Memorial Day parade will be held. Monday, May 30, 2016 | 10:00 AM at Smith Park, 500 Tytus Ave.  Middletown, Ohio.  The parade will start from Smith Park at 10 a.m. and will travel North on Tytus Ave. to Sotuh Verity Parkway, and it will end at 14th Ave. and Woodside Cemetery.  Downtown – just off N Verity Pkwy, N Main St, adjacent to Middletown Regional Airport.

Memorial Day Butler County, OhioWest Chester Memorial Day Parade

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7696 will host the annual Memorial Day Parade in West Chester at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30th. Be respectful of the meaning of this day. Do not throw or give out candy, pass out information, or campaign along the parade route.

The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 A.M., proceed south on Cincinnati-Dayton Road, turn right on West Chester Road and turn left into Brookside Cemetery where a memorial service will be held.

Participants walking in the parade should assemble in the North parking lot of Union Day School by 9:30 AM.  The school is located at 8735 Cincinnati-Dayton Road.   The parade begins at the school and ends at Brookside Cemetery.
